Weight Guide

Weight Guide

It can be difficult to picture exactly how much 35g or 50g or 89g feels.

So we created this weight guide using Australian coins. We hope you find it useful.

We have created a chart with combinations of 5c coins, 10c coins, 20c coins, 50c coins, $1 coins and $2 coins, showing from weights from 5 grams to 150 grams.
There is also a calculator where you can change the number of each of these coins to find new weights.

All Products

Where we hold an item in stock (see specials) it has been weighed and the weight shown is accurate. For all other products the weights are a guide only (although they are quite accurate) as the manufacturers can and do vary the alloy and the manufacturing processes which may cause variations to the weight shown.

Chains

For 'made to length' chains, the weight shown is the approximate weight (in grams) of a 50cm chain including the clasp. A 25cm chain will weigh approximately half this, but it is not absolutely accurate as the weight of the clasp relative to the chain will skew the results. For fixed length chains the weight shown is for that length. The material (rose, yellow or white gold) will also affect the actual weight. Variations in the alloy will also affect the actual weight. It is intended as a guide only.

Charms

The weight shown is the approximate weight (in grams) of the charm shown in sterling silver with a jump ring attached. The weight in gold is approximately 10% more. We have a minimum charge from our suppliers of 1 gram for any charm, so some charms listed as 1 gram will actually weigh less than a gram. It is intended as a guide only.

Pendants

The weight shown is the approximate weight (in grams) of the pendant shown in sterling silver with a jump ring attached (in this category) where they are available in both silver and gold. Other pendants are shown with the correct weights. The weight in gold is approximately 10% more. We have a minimum charge from our suppliers of 1 gram for any pendant, so some pendants listed as 1 gram will actually weigh less than a gram. It is intended as a guide only.

Bangles

Textured Bangles: The weight shown is the approximate weight (in grams) of the bangle shown in sterling silver with a size of (B, 63mm). The weight in gold is approximately 10% more. It is intended as a guide only.

Round, Half Round & Twisted Bangles: The weight shown is the approximate weight of the bangle shown with a size of 65mm.

Earrings

The weight shown is the approximate weight (in grams) for a pair of earrings. The material (rose, yellow or white gold) will also affect the actual weight. It is intended as a guide only.

Clasps

The weight shown is the approximate weight (in grams) of the the clasp. The material (rose, yellow or white gold) will also affect the actual weight. It is intended as a guide only.
